Full Re-thatch

Re-ridge
The purpose of a ridge is to protect the first fixing at the top of the roof. When re-ridging, we strip and dispose of the old ridge, check the condition of the top fixings and make repairs if necessary.
Fire Boarding
Fireproof boarding has proven to be one of the most effective products to limit the damage to property during a thatch roof fire. The fireboards are fitted to the rafters creating a barrier between the thatch and roof timbers.
Pest control
One of the best ways to make it harder for pests to gain access or damage a thatched roof is to install wire netting. Netting can be fitted over the main part of the thatch and over the ridge, making it difficult for animals to enter the loft space.
Repairs
Repairs normally consist of removing the rotten thatch and replacing it with new material. Any cement or lead flashing that has come away from chimney stacks or walls can be replaced.
